Prof. Yan Congquan, Vice President, started his 5-day friendly visit respectively to SUNY Buffalo State College and New Jersey City University with Mr. Ge Jianwei, director of Students’ Affaires, Prof. Zhai Yuwen, vice dean of Pinghu Campus and associate Prof. He Fenghua, Office of Foreign Affairs on 24 May.
Dr. Melanie Perreault, Provost of Buffalo State gave a warm welcome to the delegation with Dr. Robert Summers, vice dean of International Program and other colleagues. The two sides reviewed all exchange programs since the agreement took effect from 2013 and explored all possibilities to co-operate such as 3+2 programs in other majors, etc. The delegation was invited to visit the Department of Creativity and Leadership where Prof. Marie Mance the vice dean, Dr. Tim Switalski and Prof. Gerard J. Puccio respectively gave an introduction about their courses. Both sides expressed willingness to foster students in the future.
During visiting New Jersey City University, the delegation met Dr. Tamara T. Cunningham, associate Vice President of New Jersey City University with Mr. Craig Katz, director of International Programs, Jim Shafer, director of American English Program and Yin Xiuli, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute, focusing on the collaboration of 3+1+1 program, 2+2 program, English test at Jiaxing University, academic exchange program between the faculties of two sides,“China Studies for Overseas Students” at Jiaxing University for one semester, internships for short terms, etc.
